On a recent African Giants Expedition with Last Chance Safaris, we got a little more than expected when it came to tallying up the number of species we encountered. The expedition’s focus on ‘The Giants’ – elephants and big cats – was amply fulfilled, but one animal was at once confounding and fascinating.
